This item works as stated! 5000 mill-amps is great back-up power! Could go 3-4 days without charging the battery pack, but I charge it every night after use!
One downer is I put in pocket with phone to charge it and sometimes it turns off!
Overall, great product! Get it if your iPhone runs out of juice like mine did!

This is my fourth item from NewTrent. I previously bought 2 IMP190s for my iPhone 3GS. Those worked great, and when I had a mechanical issue with one, it was promptly returned and rebated- no problems or hassles. The company is quick to respond to email, and very conscientious to resolve issues. After four products, I am satisfied that quality is good, or I wouldn’t keep spending my money. But with that comes confidence that problems will be resolved quickly and fairly.
I now have both the IMP 500 and 50D. For folks using their iPhone for business, they are must haves! Small and easily packable, but with a HUGE charge inside. I haven’t found comparable charging ability at the price, and I have looked alot. Not quite a full charge for the iPad, but I have yet to go so long that the included battery and one refill from the Power Pack wasn’t enough to get me through.
In the package is a good looking and easy to use battery, with indicators to let you know when the juice is almost gone. Aesthetics are a minor reason to buy a power pack, but this one is sleek and small, just like the iDevices I use it on.
I also like the ability to Power off the battery, witout disconnecting it via an easy to use switch. The charging cord comes with multiple tips. This means the same cord that charges the battery will charge your i device with a quick change, minimizing the number of cords you have to carry! The package included a couple other charging tips, and I found one for my bluetooth headset and another for my keyboard included. The cord alone is reason enough to choose this battery pack over the competition, but 5000 mAh is substantial reason on its own. It is truly a onestop charging station, complete with AC adapter.

In the battery business, it’s been good business to keep ordering more batteries, but when it comes to the iPhone and
its’ many APPs, the need for increasing battery life has ever increased the need for a good, cost effective battery.
Most batteries, from plug ins to skins, and I’ve tried a good many brands and types, fall far short towards extending the iPhones functional
life, especially if viewing videos, using multiple APPs, or if keeping 3G and Data Roaming on all the times.
Although several current battery covers or skins can be conveniently applied over the iPhone, their batteries do not work as long,
and are harder to wear on a belt or carry in one’s pocket.
The iMaxPower external battery (IMP500A) answers the three main objectives for deciding which type of battery to purchase.
